Car Insurance Isuzu (Car Insurance). ford transit blue smoke on start up starts first time sounds good?ford transit blue smoke on start up starts first time sounds good? Thankyou for your answers, if it is injectors or valve stem sills how hard is it to do and would it take me long or should i sale and cut my losses i like the van and happy with it just cant live with the smoke best wishes col Most likely valve stem seal(s) leaking. If under warranty, back to the dealer for repair. Out of warranty, look for a reliable local independent mechanic. this is nearly always due to valve stem seals worn and allowing oil to seep past valves seals thus small puddle on pistons when starting up. if it isn't drinking oil? ( worn cylinders and rings) I would have seals renewed. do get two quotes at least though. Hello agree with Mike B, Faulty injectors normally deliver black smoke, valve stem seals leak oil into cylinder creating blue smoke upon start up. Tricky to replace with cylinder head in situ, if you drop a valve head must be removed. don.t sell as not an expensive repair Good luck. Auto parts : Oil Filter Adapter O-Ring Acura 1995 . Advice on removing seized sparkplugs? Advice on removing seized sparkplugs? Ive got a small problem with spark plugs which feel like thier cemented into my engine block, they're fair arkward to get to, under the fuel tank and into the engine of the zzr Im thinking if I use a T handle ratchet to get the most torque possible im just going to ruin the cylinder heads An improv T hadle (drilling a hole through a normal screwdriver and putting a metal rod through the hole) nearly ****** up the screwdriver, the amount of force I put on it, but it just looks like rubber/plastic compound Ive oiled the plugs for now, and decided to wait until I get some opinions If its a mechanics job Im just gonna have to scrap her, there's quite a bit of DIY needs doing before I even take it for an MOT car insurance. Isuzu . How to Replace a Thermostat on a Chevy AveoThe Chevy Aveo is a compact hatchback sedan with a 1.6L engine. This is considered a smaller engine, compared to those typically found mid-sized Chevy SUVs and coupes like the Chevy Camaro. Due to the smaller engine block size, the Aveo can be susceptible to engine warping if proper engine temperatures are not maintained. If the temperature in the Aveo gets too hot, it can cause the engine to fail. The most common point of failure in the cooling system is the thermostat. Difficulty:Moderately Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Chevy Aveo thermostat Chevy Aveo thermostat gasket Screwdriver or nut driver Adjustable wrench Step by Step : 1 Remove the band clamp that holds the radiator hose onto the thermostat intake cover with a screwdriver or nut driver. Once the band clamp is loosened, push it back onto the hose so it does not get lost. Pull the hose off the thermostat intake cover and push it off to the side. 2 Remove the two bolts that hold the thermostat intake cover onto the Chevy Aveo air intake manifold and pull the cover off the engine. Inspect the mating surfaces of the intake manifold and the thermostat intake cover for the thermostat gasket. Remove the gasket from the surface it is stuck to. 3 Pull the thermostat out of the intake manifold by pulling up on it. It should pull out easily. If there is buildup in the coolant system you may need to pull up hard on the thermostat to get it to come out of the intake. 4 Place a new thermostat gasket onto the Chevy Aveo intake manifold, then place a new thermostat into the intake. Bolt the thermostat intake cover back onto the intake manifold. Place radiator hose back onto the cover and tighten the band clamp back down. 5 Run the engine and look for leaks around the area where the radiator hose connects to the thermostat cover and where the two mating surfaces are bolted together. If there are any leaks, tighten the bolts or band clamp as needed. Tips & Warnings If there is buildup in the coolant system, you may want to invest in a coolant system flush to remove any excessive build up inside the engine.
Isuzu . How to Replace the Thermostat on a Chevy UplanderThe Chevy Uplander was Chevy's first entry into the crossover automotive market. A crossover looks like an SUV on the outside but has the space of a minivan inside. This makes it a unique vehicle for hauling your family around the town. However, when the cooling system fails, it generally starts with the thermostat. If your Uplander hasn't been heating properly, the thermostat may need replacement. This will allow the engine to properly regulate the operating temperature. Difficulty:Moderately Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Screwdriver Wench Shop towels Step by Step : 1 Pull the cap off the radiator to release the pressure in the coolant system. This will prevent any issues with radiator fluid escaping while you remove the thermostat. 2 Search for the thermostat housing. It's on the right side of the engine. The engine in an Uplander is in sideways. so the right side is actually in the front of the engine bay. The radiator hose that extends from the top of the radiator is connected to the engine's intake manifold. The part it connects to is the thermostat housing. 3 Remove the band clamp that holds the hose to the housing with a screwdriver or adjustable wrench. Pull the radiator hose off the thermostat housing to gain easier access to the housing and thermostat. 4 Pull the thermostat housing out of the engine by removing the two bolts that hold it into place. Once removed, the housing can be lifted off the engine. 5 Pull the thermostat out of the engine and note which end is sticking out of the Uplander to ensure the new one is placed back into the engine with the correct side up. Remove the gasket from the top of the intake manifold and throw both the thermostat and gasket away. 6 Place the new thermostat into the engine and then place the new gasket onto the intake manifold. With the housing placed on top of the gasket, bolt the housing back into place. 7 Connect the radiator hose back to the thermostat housing and tighten down the band clamp. Tips & Warnings It's not necessary, but it's a good idea to change the coolant fluid at the same time you change the thermostat. This way, you start with a clean system. Do not complete this job with the engine warmed up. An engine runs around 200 degrees Fahrenheit. If you get hot engine coolant on you, it can cause severe burns. The differential turns the power of the engine and the transmission 90 degrees into the axles that connect the drive wheels of the car. Because on most vehicles, the axle is set at right angles to the driveshaft, you can see that the differential is really changing the direction of the power so that the drive wheels can turn. Chapter 9 looks at drive trains and transmissions in detail, and Chapter 17 helps you deal with them. Isuzu . How do you fold down the split seat in get into the trunk?
